Inflammation in and around musculoskeletal tissue such as joints, bursas and tendons can be caused by local factors or systemic inflammation. Acute inflammation is what occurs when then the body is attempting to heal itself from trauma, infection or crystal development in and around joints.
Chronic inflammation occurs when the body is losing the capacity to regulate its healing function. This is a deeper issue which will not be addressed in this section.
Treatment of localised inflammatory conditions such as joint inflammation, synovitis, tendonitis and bursitis with autologous therapies has been widely researched and found to be helpful.
